===== Omschrijving =====

A topic owner (TO) is responsible for the educational content of one or more units of learning outcomes/topic and, in consultation with the relevant curriculum owner (CO), ensures the quality of the educational unit in terms of content, form and documentation. In addition, the TO is the point of contact for Teams carrying out this unit.

===== Responsibilities/tasks=====
Run: The topic owner
  * 	is responsible for the content of one or more topics. This means that, in consultation with the COs, he processes the learning outcomes, owns the master course, developed workshops and the teaching materials for the students that helps them to orient themselves in the first weeks of class and find a suitable project.
  * 	is responsible that continuous learning tracks (e.g. PO skills, self-regulation, research) are embedded in accordance with development assignment by the curriculum committee.
  *   ensures correct registration in the Curriculum Management System (e.g. CDB) and up-to-date content in the study guide. The topic owner is responsible for providing information about the topic, e.g. during Fontys ICT career event, open days.
  * ensures that the teams executing the topic are aware of the content. Executing teams can ask the topic owner for help in case of problems during execution.
  * 	ensures that the role of partners is clear to the implementation teams.
  * 	is responsible for the feasibility, organizability, studyability of the topic.

===== Change: The topic owner=====

  *         is project leader in educational development, sets up a development team to implement changes in accordance with development assignments by the curriculum committee.
  *        participates in the WAC and keeps track of the development of subject content. If necessary, a development proposal is made in consultation with the CO. In addition, being involved in teaching evaluations enables him to make minor changes.
  *         coordinates with the site manager if special facilities are needed (labs, resources at ISSD, licences)
  *         ensures proper transfer from educational development to the executing teams.

===== Development: The topic owner=====

  *         ensures supply of professional development activities if changes in the topic prompt it.
  *         consults with CM on expertise needed in implementation
  *         Facilitated by CO, the TO participates in an expertise team, in which teachers from the executing teams can professionalise themselves, think along with developments, collaborate in educational development.
