====== Internationalisation ====== >**Summary** >//This page describes what internationalisation means, the vision on it and the goals Fontys ICT wants to realise.// **“Knowledge is not hindered by borders”** ===== Goals ===== The aim of internationalisation is to promote the quality of education, to better equip our students and to increase their professional opportunities in a global world. As stated in a previous Fontys mission: In Fontys ICT's vision on internationalisation, we want to enable every student to develop his intercultural and international competences. To this end, a [[..:beleid:programmalijn_internationalisering|Programme Line Internationalisation]] has been developed. By internationalisation we mean:\\ //knowing and applying intercultural and international competences in a suitable context, in the Netherlands and/or abroad, using the international language of instruction English.// From this point of view, internationalisation therefore consists of two contexts: * **A context @Home**\\ This requires education that offers the possibility of internationalisation and a curriculum in which internationalisation has an explicit place. * **A context Abroad**\\ where the student goes abroad for a short or longer period of time. ==== Internationalisation@home ==== Further integration while retaining individuality, respect for cultural diversity and an eye for inclusion offers opportunities for internationalisation@home. This applies to all students and employees of Fontys ICT. Project weeks and international weeks @home, internship and graduation in this international High Tech region increase the opportunities to learn and work in an international environment @home. ==== Internationalisation abroad==== The aim is to bring student mobility up to 20%((European Higher Education Directive)). The same applies to lecturers. To this end we organise twice a year Study Abroad events and workshops "How to go abroad”. Internationalisation abroad consists of short and (medium) long mobility. It covers the spectrum from international weeks, projects with foreign partners to foreign minors and (graduation) internships. ===== Partner colleges and universities of Fontys ICT ===== Fontys ICT has cooperative relationships with a large number of partner universities of applies sciences and universities.
