What's a TER?

The teaching and examination regulations of a study programme. The Dutch Higher Education and Research Act (WHW) stipulates that every study programme must have an TER. The Teaching and Examination Regulations (TER) contain all information about the content of the study programme and the assessment within the study programme. Here you will also find information about the admission requirements and the guidance that is offered.

The TER's of Fontys ICT

For Fontys ICT, the established TER's are published on the Fontys website Teaching and Examination Regulations (TER). The text of this website is also available in English. To change the language, please see the top right of the page.

For Fontys ICT, there are various study programme variants that are described in number TER's:

  1. the Associate degree variant AD-ICT (full-time and part-time in Eindhoven and full-time in Tilburg)
  2. the variant full-time Bachelor HBO-ICT (for Eindhoven and Tilburg)
  3. the variant Part-time Bachelor OvP (part-time in Eindhoven) 1)
  4. the variant Master Applied IT

The Fontys ICT programme guide is the appendix to the TERs containing education-related information.

There are also TER's for study programme variants that are currently being phased out2):

  1. the full-time Dutch-language variant (will be replaced by full-time Bachelor HBO-ICT)
  2. the full-time English-language variant (will be replaced by Full-time Bachelor HBO-ICT)

Every year, Fontys ICT publishes new versions of those TER's that, in principle, apply to all enrolled students of a study programme variant. However, these TER's usually contain transitional arrangements whereby students are referred to TER's from previous years for some components.

Which also includes the description of the the old part-time and Associate degree study programmes in IT Service Management, which are currently being phased out.

From September 2023, these TERs no longer exist.
