Additional facilities
Summary
The procedure for applying for and granting an additional facility is described here.
Introduction
At the start of their studies, students can indicate whether they have a functional limitation via Studielink and via the Study choice check. The student can then be referred to one of the deans or other support options from Fontys' Student Facilities Service.
Semester coaches can also remind students during their studies to apply for additional facilities through the dean or contact Student+.
Possibilities
There are several types of extra facilities that can be requested:
Use of quiet room/low stimulation room (not during assessing tests). The use of this room can be requested via
Student+;
Extra individual tutoring by mentor up to a maximum of 7 hours per semester;
Extension of study duration in case of special personal circumstances;
Special circumstances that examination chamber should take into account when issuing the
BNS.
The use of Kurzweil software is offered as standard.
Applications
The request for the use of the quiet room/low stimulation room can be made to
Student+;
All other requests mentioned under the 'Possibilities' section are made on the Dean's advice. The student must make his/her own
appointment with the dean for this;
After the meeting with the student, the dean draws up a recommendation, which the student should send along with his application via the
examination committee tool;
Granting
The examination board will consider the request. If granted, the student will receive a confirmation e-mail.
Processing
The Official secretary registers the facilities granted in the Student Tracking System (SVS) and informs those involved.
