Summary
In order to be able to offer the very diverse group of students talent oriented education, Student+ was created. Student+ provides advice and support for customised solutions, aimed at talent development. The tools and trainings therefore offered Fontys-wide and via Student+ at Fontys CT will be explained in more detail.

Fontys ICT's ambition is:

“For anyone who wants to study ICT at a higher professional level, Fontys ICT offers a suitable solution for the optimal development and validation of talents”.

In order to be able to offer the very diverse group of students talent-oriented education, Student+ has been set up. Student+ provides advice and support for customised solutions, aimed at talent development. These are tools and training programmes that are offered Fontys-wide, as well as facilities that have been set up by Student+: such as the planning groups and the allocation of coaching pathways and study coaches with knowledge of autism, ADD and ADHD. Lecturers and students can also contact Student+ for advice.

The Fontys ICT has set up a Menu card with an overview of training courses, coaching and tools.

In addition, Student+ makes an inventory of obstacles in studyability and looks for solutions, such as.: workshops on energy management, motivation, feedback and planning. Student+ also provides training for lecturers and study coaches. Examples are a workshop on game addiction and the autism experience circuit.

In addition to Student+ the following Fontys-wide facilities are also available to students.:

• Switching study programme: You can go here for study switch and study choices. The student coaches (point directly below) will help you with your choice, both individually and in a group workshop. It is also possible to have a capacity test carried out here.
• Student coaches: In Eindhoven and Tilburg we have several student coaches who are all available for the Fontys ICT students.
• The student coach can, of course, be used for individual interviews, but you can also take part in training courses. These training courses are given at least twice a year (autumn and spring):

  • Fear of failure
  • Mindfulness
  • Perfectionism
  • Mourning and loss processing
  • Application training
  • Deferral behaviour

For most training courses, a motivation letter from the student is expected.

• Support for customised education.

Student+ also cooperates with student counsellors and psychologists. Referral to a student counsellor is necessary if the student needs extra facilities around tests, such as extra large font or extra test time. If a student needs extra study time to complete the propaedeutic phase, an appointment with the student counsellor is also necessary.

A group of various study coaches offers intensive coaching to students. In order to qualify for this guidance, a student or study coach makes an appointment for an intake interview with Student+ via this button on the website, or by mail.

For certain topics we receive many requests for guidance, such as planning and organising your study. Since 2016, we have been organising the planning groups for this. A group of students engage weekly to get a better grip on their studies. Topics such as motivation, creating an overview and prioritising are covered. In addition, the programme is tailored to the students' needs. The way of working will mostly be in groups (peer consultation), with study coaches (who guide the process) or from Student+. Where necessary, we ask for the support of course lecturers. Students can easily apply via the apply button on the website.
