Summary
Fontys uses a curriculum management system (CBS). The CBS records all relevant data for a Unit of Learning Outcomes (EvL) for the purpose of creating an education catalogue and the OERs.
The curriculum management system is a tool used within Fontys to keep track of information about the various Units of Learning Outcomes of the study programme. The tool contains the current data, information about the ULO as stated in the TER and the associated topics. The CBS is also used to generate the programme catalogue. Pending the broad roll-out of the CBS by Fontys, Fontys ICT Curriculum Database (CDB) is used within Fontys.
Each lecturer has access rights and can view all curriculum information. Information about EvLs can only be edited by the responsible curriculum owner of the unit of study and users authorised by this owner, including in any case the Topic Owner (TO).
The tool is also used to generate the programme guide based on the information in the CBS. To ensure that this runs smoothly, agreements have been made about the procedure and timeline of activities.
The content of a Unit of Learning Outcomes is also referred to as a Topic. The topics of the EvL are described in the CBS. The CBS is also used to generate and publish the programme guide, which, as an appendix to the OER, contains all the formal information about the education.
This formal information is kept for each LO in the CBS and must be fully updated two weeks before the start of education. The information is published on the page with the OERs of Fontys ICT no later than one week before the start of the programme.
For each topic, at least a description of the following will be included:
It has been agreed with the IPC and JDPC that the improvements implemented as a result of the previous semester evaluation will be included in the Canvas course for the relevant unit of study. In this way, we provide students with feedback on what we are doing with the feedback they have previously given.
Canvas describes which PIEs contribute to education and in what form.
When setting up and using the CBS, the policy regarding Fontys ICT's Codes and naming of information systems must be taken into account.
