Process updating curricula in the Curriculum database

Summary
The Curriculum Database (CDB) maintains the TER information of Fontys ICT's units of study. In addition, the system is used to generate the Fontys ICT Programme Guide. From Canvas, the information on the corresponding unit of study is referenced directly from the CDB. This page describes the process of maintaining the CDB.

Introduction

It was decided in the Curriuculum development committee (OO) that the Curriculum Database will be used to maintain the TER information of all units of study in Fontys ICT. The tool is also used to generate the Fontys ICT programme guide based on the information in the database.

In order to ensure that this is properly managed, agreements have been made about the procedure and timetable for activities relating to the input of the required information, the coordination of the units of study with Progress and the approval and publication of the information on the units of study and the programme guide.

The process: updating of curricula and programme guides

Retracting from the final publication date of the programme guide, the process has been established as set out in Table 1.1) For the precise planning, see the quality assurance portal

19NJ/21VJ Wednesday KZThe complete programme guide will be presented to Legal Affairs (JZ) of the Education and Research Service (Dienst O&O), so that it can be published on the Fontys website.
CDB management Publish the most recent, approved information of the units of study. This makes the programme guide and the information via Canvas accessible.
KZ Places the complete programme guide also on the student square of the Fontys ICT portal, with the TER's.

Authority to modify data

Because the CE 's are the only ones who may formally modify the unit of study, we ensure that PLOO's and/or PLOU's and lecturers cannot change codes and performance indicators without approval of the CE. A new subject will then be assigned a new code later, so we can be sure that this code has not been used before. Once a unit of study is published, the underlying information can be changed in a new version. That new version replaces the previous version only upon publication and only if that new version had been approved by the CE.

When does a new subject arise?

In terms of assurance, a unit of study counts as a new unit of study as soon as the linked performance indicators change, the name changes or the subject is revised as far as it's content can no longer be equated with its predecessor.
