This manifesto underlines the importance of ethical principles, transparency, and accountability in integrating AI technologies into the learning process. By following these guidelines, we ensure that AI is used in a safe, fair and effective way to promote education and to support the educational mission of Fontys ICT.

1. Use: AI is used responsibly for all purposes and this is encouraged in education.
2. Accountability: The responsible use of AI requires clear communication about resources and processes to ensure the integrity of learning.
3. Validation: Students review and validate the results of AI.
4. Process: Students use AI as input for their learning. The focus is not on the product, but on creating and substantiating solutions.
5. Concept: Programming and coding focus on conceptual understanding, in order to create an optimal solution with AI.
6. Face-to-Face: To guarantee authenticity and meaning, conversations between teacher and student take place in person.
7. Competency: All students and teachers are and will remain AI-skilled.
