Role description Team Manager II&A
Summary
Description of the purpose, tasks and responsibilities and powers of the Team Manager II&A. In addition, its place in the Fontys ICT organisation is explained. The II&A department proactively makes proposals to the managing director and (Extended) Leadershipteam in the field of ICT resources.
Purpose
The purpose of the role of Team Manager II&A is to lead the II&A team so that Fontys ICT is provided with the right ICT resources and services, fitting within the Fontys and Fontys ICT strategy.
Duties and responsibilities
The Team Manager II&A:
- is responsible for the deployment and working methods of the Fontys ICT IT service team so that the IT support is state-of-the-art, in line with the ambition of Fontys ICT as an innovative and internationally oriented knowledge institute;
- in coordination with the IT architect, Information Manager and Manager Support, sets priorities (in the CCB) and streamlines the work of the II&A team so that the agreed objective is achieved;
- provides - in coordination with the IT architect - strategic and tactical advice to the management and (Extended) Leadership team on issues relating to ICT resources and requirements with a focus on the primary process: conducting high-quality education and research;
- is the IT services point of contact at tactical level for various stakeholders within the organisation such as the Manager Support, (Extended) Leadership team, fellow Team Managers and other employees within the teaching and support staff. He coordinates with central IT services (Fontys I&T) and other external parties;
- Is responsible for resource management at team II&A. He secures this by:
- (co-)drawing up, advising on and implementing short and long-term personnel planning;
- Selecting and advising on appointments of new colleagues;
- Securing the introduction and onboarding process of new colleagues;
- Securing the development cycle for new colleagues with temporary appointments.introductie_nieuwe_medewerkers
- Is responsible for optimal facilitation and coaching of the development of ‘his’ team members. He implements this by:
- Promoting the personal quality, effectiveness and motivation of team members. Through coaching by the Team Manager II&A, the colleague arrives at the optimal use of talents and the creation of his/her own career;
- Assessing and securing the development cycle for colleagues, which identifies which ambitions, talents, development and training needs colleagues will work on, in order to increase the sustainable employability of colleagues;
- Fulfils the role of case manager (in the context of Fontys reintegration policy) for incapacitated colleagues of the team: grants sick leave, determines wage value, makes agreements on reintegration, takes care of registration and reporting;
- is responsible for facilitating the career development of colleagues for whom the career is continued outside Fontys ICT. He implements this by:
- Ensuring the interview cycle and reporting on this;
- Supporting outplacement processes.

- That is, in the role of ‘employer’, the Team Manager II&A's responsibilities include informing colleagues on organisation-wide aspects and signing (employment) agreements;
- Has decision-making authority when escalating deployment-related issues of project leaders (PLs) and or colleagues.
Location in the organisation
The Team II&A is part of the Support Department of Fontys ICT. The Team Manager II&A is part of the Consultation Committee (AO) Support. He coordinates with the Manager Support at functional and tactical-operational level, and as regards personnel policy with the PM Support (operational/tactical) and the Manager People (strategic).
