Summary
An overview of the tasks and responsibilities of a Research Project Leader within Fontys ICT.

Purpose

The purpose of the Project Leader Research (PLOZ) role is to prepare, lead and implement Fontys ICT-related research projects.

Within research, there are various Project Leader roles (A and B), which are classified differently. The distinction is determined by the size and complexity of the project.

Project leader A:

  • Project less than 2,000 hours;
  • Project with less than two external partners.

Project leader B:

  • Project more than 2000 hours;
  • Project with more than two external partners.

In specific cases this may be deviated from, this is at the assessment of the Research Manager within the Fontys ICT leadership team.

Tasks and responsibilities

The PLOZ has the following tasks and responsibilities:

  • Linking research projects to educational semesters;
  • Recruiting project members;
  • Involving students and informing them about opportunities to participate in the research;
  • Coordinate the implementation of the research in education, coordinate didactic design, transfer results, in close cooperation with the PLOUs;
  • Prepares progress reports on the research and ensures communication of results to and coordination with stakeholders;
  • Has the financial management of the research project;
  • Coordinates with external partners in terms of planning, content, results and represents Fontys ICT in the research consortium;
  • If Fontys is penning: coordinates the research, the cooperation between the partners, organises meetings and monitors the progress of the project.

Powers

The PLOZ has insight into the finances of his project and coordinates on this with the Lectureship Manager and with Planning & Finance.
