Get Connected!
Every six years, Fontys ICT launches a strategic plan, in rhythm with the study programme accreditations. In 2024, under the title 'Get Connected', we set a new dot on the horizon. After a year of preparation, during which we listened to our own employees and numerous experts from inside and outside Fontys, we have arrived at six strategic themes on which we will focus until 2029. The overarching theme is Growth, with the aim of increasing the student volume by 50% and the research portfolio by 200% by 2029.
Follow-up to Open Up
'Get Connected!' follows the programme 'Open Up' that covered Fontys ICT's ambition plans in the period 2018-2023. For a growing, dynamic and open organisation, making new connections and maintaining existing ones is essential. Hence, after 'Open Up', the ambition in 'Get Connected!' is now on sustainable connections.
Mission, vision and ambition
In realising our ambitions, we base ourselves on our identity and values from our compass: ”drivers of growth“. Fontys ICT sees a mission for itself to shape the future of the ICT work field. Our vision is to create an eco-system in which talent, knowledge and innovation come together for a digital future that is better for people, animals and the planet. We give shape to this mission and vision from the ambition that we strive to be at the forefront, to be sustainably the best in everything we do and to always pull together looking ahead.
Organisation
The design and organisation of 'Get Connected!' is based on the evaluation of 'Open Up' and the wishes from the organisation. The main difference from 'Open Up' is that no separate organisation has been set up for the implementation of 'Get Connected!'. The themes coincide with the responsibilities of the members of the leadership team (LT). With a few exceptions, the action lines are invested in members of the XLT, the extended leadership team. Projects are implemented by colleagues who already have involvement and affinity with the topics. 'Get Connected' provides an extra boost and focus: we don't do everything - and what we do, we do well. A project organisation facilitates the implementation of this strategic plan.

All information on Get Connected!
The mission, vision and ambition, together with the themes and action lines, are fixed for the period 2024-2029. They are conveniently presented on this One Page Strategy. Within the action lines, projects are initiated and terminated. These projects contribute to the strategic goals. Those who want to see which colleagues are responsible for an action line or project can consult an overview on the employee section (medewerkersplein).
