Decisions

Summary
A decision is not the same as a management decision. On this page the distinction is explained.

Decisions

Decisions/decisions are agreements made by an authorised consultation within Fontys ICT. These have an operational character and do not have to be submitted to the managing director. This saves time and increases decisiveness and is in line with the principle of placing decision-making as low as possible in the organisation. Whether a consultation is authorised or not is determined by the consultation itself, in the expectation that it will be handled responsibly.

Management decisions

When decisions are a point of consultation with the participation bodies (IPC and/or DPC), a decision by the managing director must be (adopted) as a formal management decision. It may be the case that the managing director overrules previously taken decisions and does not take them over in a management decision. Management decisions are taken by the management and then communicated in the Fontys ICT newsletter UPDATE and on the employee section of the Fontys ICT portal.
