Description of the general information portal of Fontys ICT and its main contents and sections.

The Portal Fontys ICT¹⁾ is the portal for information exchange and (online) cooperation within the Fontys ICT organisation on the Microsoft platform SharePoint.

To be found here: practical information about the ins and outs of the organisation, management decisions, information systems, schedules, class lists, manuals, news, announcements and documents are also shared here. The Student section, the Employee section and the Studie coach section are frequently used sites within the Fontys ICT portal. On this page, some of the items mentioned are explained.

The aim of an employee portal (Employee section) is to be a central gateway for employees in which various sources of information can be accessed. This provides the employee with up-to-date, complete, reliable and timely (portal) information that is easily accessible and retrievable for the supporting and executive tasks of employees in the educational process.
The information on the Employee section is not accessible to the students of Fontys ICT because it is not important to them, but also for reasons of confidentiality of data and to guarantee the privacy of the employees.

The principles that have been formulated in this context:

• Choice of SharePoint as the basic platform for cooperation within Fontys ICT;
• The Employee section, in which all information is open to employees, unless this is not possible due to, for example, the privacy-sensitive nature of the information;
• A central management of and responsibility for structure, design and general content;
• The management of the underlying sites is the responsibility of the decentralised managers (teams or groups).
  

On the Student section you will find all the information that is relevant for students. The starting points for the Student section section are largely the same as those of the Employee section:

• Choice of SharePoint as the basic platform for cooperation within Fontys ICT;
• At the Student section, all information is open to all students and staff, unless this is not possible due to, for example, the privacy sensitivity of the information;
• A central management of and responsibility for structure, design and general content;
• The management of the underlying sites is the responsibility of the decentralised managers (teams or groups).
  

The Study coach section is primarily an information platform for all Fontys ICT study coaches. For the benefit of the study coaches Student+ the following has been collected on this part of the Fontys ICT Portal:

• Background information;
• Guidance materials;
• Planning of activities;
• Forms.
