Role description Programme Manager

Summary
A description of the purpose, tasks and responsibilities of the Programme Manager (CE).

The Programme Manager (CE) takes care of the development and innovation of the education, both didactically and in terms of content. for one or more curricula within Fontys ICT. Each CE is responsible for a number of Units of Learning Outcomes (ULOs) that are mentioned within Fontys ICT Topics. These developments and innovations are coordinated with the curriculum development committee (OO) and with the Topic Owners (TOs).

The Programme Manager (CE)

• Identifies new developments in the field that are relevant to his or her topics;
• Is actively involved in organisations that are innovating within the field, such as HBO-i;
• Attends conferences and seminars on new trends and developments, methods, assessment, etc.;
• Organises meetings with the topic owners and the Work Field Advisory Committee and chairs these meetings;
• Designs the content and teaching methods for several logically related topics (Learning Outcome Units within a programme and/or a minor);
• Translates new trends and developments, methods, assessment, etc. into the education system;
• To this end, assigns development tasks with an associated development budget to the topic owners, following consultation in the curriculum development committee (OO);
• Monitors the progress of ongoing development assignments;
• Ensures that the education complies with the TER and fits within the institute’s frameworks and policy;
• Creates the topics with codes, entry and exit requirements, and learning outcomes in the curriculum_management_system;
• Improves education based on the results of the quality cycle;
• Participates in quality meetings with the Cluster Managers (CMs) and quality manager;
• Accounts for the content and design of the curriculum in accordance with national standards during accreditations and audits;
• Advises Cluster Managers (CMs) on the subject-specific education of lecturers;
• Advises Topic Owners on involving the right partners in development and on the role description of the partners for implementation;
• Advises on the need for expertise in the recruitment and appointment of new lecturers;
• Advises the Cluster Manager (CM) on the development cycle of the topic owners;
• Recruits and appoints topic owners in consultation with the Cluster Manager (CM).
