Summary
Under the title #2023 -OPEN UP, Fontys ICT works on its second ambition plan during the period up to the external visitation in 2024. In August 2018 the booklet, in which the ambitions are expressed, was presented.The document is the result of internal and external rounds of talks with all possible stakeholders. There are again, 8 development themes identified where Fontys ICT wants to make a difference in the coming years. Central ambitions are innovation, research and connecting with the external environment. Not surprisingly the subtitle of the document is: “Fontys ICT brings out the best in people and the environment.”

During the spring of 2018 Fontys ICT carried out a very extensive exploration, which led to the second ambition plan of / for Fontys ICT. To this end, Fontys ICT has interviewed (internal) employees, study coaches and students of Fontys ICT. Furthermore, many external stakeholders are involved in the process. We requested and received input from the Executive Board of Fontys (including the strategic framework and management of Fontys), fellow directors of Fontys, professors of Fontys, directors of secondary education, directors of secondary vocational education, delegation from the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, a delegation from the Education Inspectorate, the Municipality of Eindhoven, Partners in Education, directors of other HBO-ICT study programmes and representatives from the social sector within the Brainport region.

In the summer of 2018, based on the internal and external analysis mentioned above, the orientation for the coming years was indicated in the publication Fontys School of Information and Communication Technology #2023 OPEN UP.

It describes our ambitions for the coming years. The central thread in this is the development from an Educational Institution to a Knowledge Centre, in which we have even more contact with/impact on our outside world. The course is elaborated in eight development themes on which we make great strides again in the coming years.

In line with our mission and organisational vision, we offer the outside world (the ICT work field and society) an environment where ICT professionals can visit at all times to leave 'enriched', where research leads to practical solutions for economic, technical and social challenges.

We commit ourselves even more explicitly to companies and fellow knowledge institutes, regionally, nationally and internationally, and thus make a contribution to innovation and cooperation.

A project leader and development team are linked to each development theme. These development teams are connected to the Fontys ICT (Extended) Leadershipteam, through one of the (Extended) Leadershipteam members. For each development theme, a collaborative space has been set up on theFontys ICT portal.
