Explanation of the digital archiving system that is used Fontys-wide.

What is Content Manager?

Content Manager (CM) is a digital document and records management system that at Fontys is mainly used as a (digital) archive system. A document and records management system is a repository (database) in which descriptive characteristics (metadata) of documents and files are stored.

Application

It is easy to find records based on their characteristics, such as author, title, description, date. Metadata are data that say something about a particular document or file. The documents themselves are stored in a document store, which is accessible via the Content Manager application.
