Rules for taking written tests

Summary
When taking written tests, a number of rules apply regarding attendance, the use of test assignments and tools. In addition, a number of rules of conduct apply.

Presence

  • The student is expected to be present in the classroom no later than 5 minutes before the start of the test;
  • If a student arrives late, the invigilator can only allow a student to start the interim examination if no other student has left yet;
  • After the start of the test, the student may only leave the room after 20 minutes;
  • No student may leave the room during the last 5 minutes of the examination period. Students must wait until the end of the exam period.

Assignments, papers and tools

  1. The student must check whether the assignments are complete as soon as they have been received. If the test is not complete, he will report this immediately to the invigilator;
  2. The student must take the test on paper provided by the educational institute. In doing so, he may use scrap paper, which will also be provided by the educational institute. Students are forbidden to bring test paper or scrap paper from outside the test room;
  3. The student may not take the test with an erasable pencil or pen.
  4. On the first page of the test paper, the student mentions the following information:
    • name student;
    • student number;
    • name test;
    • test code;
    • date on which the test is taken;
    • the number of continuation sheets to be returned;
    • the name of the student and the serial number of the continuation sheet must be stated on all continuation sheets.

Rules of Conduct

  1. The student is obliged to identify himself (if requested) at each test by means of a valid proof of identity (no student card);
  2. The student signs the attendance list. For students who are not on the attendance list, a note on the attendance list is made by the invigilator/examiner. The student is allowed to participate in the test;
  3. Toilet visits should be limited as much as possible. Only after permission from the invigilator may a student visit the toilet. The invigilator/examiner ensures that no two or more students leave the room at the same time;
  4. During tests, students are not allowed to communicate in any way with fellow students or to exchange tools, papers, drawing materials, etc.;
  5. The student may only use tools as mentioned on the test assignments, Canvas or in the Curriculumdatabase. He has to get these ready before the test starts;
  6. During the tests, mobile phones and other means of communication are switched off and stored in the bag. Mobile phones and other means of communication shall not be visible. During permitted toilet visits, these means of communication remain in the test room. Tests that allow technological tools must not be used to communicate;
  7. The student must follow the instructions of invigilators and/or examiners;
  8. The student who has finished the test submits his test to the invigilator / examiner;
  9. The student may not leave the room without handing in his papers (even if it only contains the student's name and student number).
  10. The invigilator checks the name on the papers;
  11. If other (additional) rules are applicable, these will be mentioned in the semester guides.

Extra provisions

Students who have been assigned extra facilities may make use of it.
