Summary
Description of the purpose, duties and responsibilities of the Research & Work Field Programme Manager. Under the leadership of, and in collaboration with, the Research Manager, this person shapes the strategy of applied research in relation to Fontys ICT's ambitions.

Purpose

Fontys ICT aims to develop into an internationally recognised innovation institute. Applied research plays an important role in this. Therefore, leadership team also has room for a Research Manager. This role is filled for 1 day a week by a (leading) professor. To properly shape and secure the strategy and content, support for this role is needed. Both for the internal connection with education and external with the work field and research institutions.

Tasks and responsibilities

Led by, and in collaboration with, the Manager Research, the Programme Manager Research & Work Field shapes the strategy of applied research in relation to Fontys ICT's ambitions. You do this by:

  • drawing up strategic plans for applied research within Fontys ICT;
  • maintaining contacts with relevant stakeholders. This may include research consortia, SPARC board and national networks where appropriate (e.g. PRIO / SIA);
  • maintaining and actively expanding the strategic research network leading to long-term relationships with companies and institutes;
  • coordinating and organising the programme coordinators at strategic and tactical level. You also play a connecting role towards them from the leadership team;
  • keep abreast of the content of internal consultations and participate where the agenda demands it;
  • Together with the Operations Manager, organise research at the Innovation Lab(s) at tactical level in consultation with Partners in Innovation and research groups;
  • provide limited support to community partners (Partners in Innovation and research consortia) in the translation and integration of research into education. To this end, you will coordinate with both research and education stakeholders (in particular PLOUs S6 and S7 and professors);
  • by helping to draw up and maintain the portfolio for the Fontys ICT research programme and actively promoting it;
  • reporting to Manager Research.
