Summary
This page provides an overview of the different graduation projects for the Associate degree, Bachelor and Master for both full-time and part-time (Education for Professionals or OvP). Detailed information on the different pathways is given in more detail on separate pages .

At Fontys ICT, each study programme concludes with a graduation project. This graduation project is the crowning glory of the student's studies, in which he demonstrates to have sufficiently mastered all required competences to enter the labour market as a starting professional. Duration and complexity of this graduation project may differ between the different (variants of) study programmes. These differences are briefly presented here. For more detailed information on the different graduation projects, please refer to other page.

In the Associate degree, graduation is included in the fourth semester. Graduation from the AD is task-oriented and differentiates the chosen professional profile more than previous AD semesters. A final assignment here therefore does not have to contain an explicit research component. There is no difference between full-time or part-time. In the bachelor's degree programme, graduation covers the entire eighth semester. Before a student is allowed to start his final assignment, he must have already proven that he will be able to demonstrate all professional competences at the Bachelor level, which he then does during graduation. A Bachelor's final assignment always contains an explicit research component. In Education for Professionals (part-time), a student can agree at the beginning how long graduation will take within the range of 6 - 12 months. The reasoning behind this is that a part-time student is expected to be able to devote 20 hours/week to study in addition to his/her work. This will allow the same amount to be spent on study within 12 months as a full-time student does for one semester. A part-time student who completes a final assignment at his workplace, as he is expected to do, can graduate within 6 months just like a full-time student. In the Master of Applied IT, graduation takes place in the second semester. Unlike with the Bachelor, the student does not yet have to have proven that he can demonstrate all professional competences at the Master level, but must provide that proof during graduation. Unlike the AD or the Bachelor, a Master's student also attends school education during this semester and has meetings with other graduating students.
